It is the most active known form of Vitamin D3 in stimulating intestinal calcium transport and is highly potent (category 4 SafeBridge).
It is also recommended in therapies for the treatment of some autoimmune diseases and certain cancer types (with strict dosage control).
USE
Calcitriol is prescribed for various diseases associated with Vitamin D3 deficiency or related metabolic disorders.
It is used therapeutically for osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism, renal osteodystrophy, psoriasis, calcium absorption and calcium mobilisation in bone.
