LUGANO, Switzerland • September 15th, 2026 • HAS Group is pleased to announce that Swissmedic has approved the expanded production unit at Cerbios-Pharma SA dedicated to the manufacture of reduced folates, marking an important milestone in the Group’s long-term strategy to strengthen its manufacturing capacity for this API segment. Cerbios is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of reduced folates, with more than 50 years of experience in the development and production of this specialized class of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Reduced folates represent a core business area and a strategic focus for the company, supported by decades of manufacturing expertise, technological know-how, and regulatory excellence. The approval follows the successful completion of a major investment project aimed at responding to the growing global demand for this class of APIs. Market demand has been further strengthened by the approval in March 2026 of a new therapeutic application for Leucovorin in Cerebral Folate Deficiency (CFD) in the United States; expected to be available to customers by the beginning of 2027, the expanded production unit represents the first step in a broader plan designed to further reinforce manufacturing capacity, operational flexibility, and supply chain resilience. Swissmedic’s approval allows Cerbios to begin qualification and validation activities for its expanded manufacturing capacity, expected to be available to customers by the end of 2026. This achievement further strengthens HAS Group’s commitment to ensuring long-term supply continuity while supporting both established therapeutic applications and future clinical opportunities involving reduced folates.

“The approval of this expanded production unit represents an important milestone for Cerbios and for the entire HAS Group,” said Waldo Mossi, CEO of HAS Group. “Reduced folates have been at the heart of Cerbios’ expertise for decades, and this investment demonstrates our long-term commitment to supporting customers, and patients through increased capacity, quality, and supply reliability.”

As part of HAS Group’s broader growth strategy, additional investments are already planned to further strengthen the Group’s manufacturing network and support the evolving needs of the global pharmaceutical market.
