LUGANO, Switzerland • April 8th, 2024 • Cerbios-Pharma SA is proud to announce the completion of a photovoltaic power plant at its Lugano site. This new milestone marks a significant step forward in the Company’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, further to last year’s implementation of a new solvent collection and separation process which significantly reduced waste and enhanced recycling.
The solar panels will generate clean energy, covering roughly 10% of the site’s annual energy needs. Here’s a closer look at the technical details:
- Number of panels installed: 1,210
- Total panel area: 2,700 sq m (total project area: 4,000 sq m)
- Installed power: 525 kWp
- Estimated annual production: 550 MWh
These projects, aimed at protecting the environment and reducing the overall carbon footprint, are all part of Cerbios’ Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. In a global context where sustainability is playing an increasingly important role, also in the pharmaceutical sector, Cerbios is committed to doing its part. Cerbios’ dedication to sustainability is reflected in its support of the DCAT Summit, to be held in Lugano in May, and dedicated to this key issue. Cerbios is proud to join this important event and to play a role in building a more sustainable future.
